The Arlington Innovation Center is part of Virginia Tech’s strategy in expanding its program in biomedical research and education. The strategy includes establishment of Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute in Roanoke, Virginia Bioinformatics Institute in Blacksburg, and Virginia Tech-Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Science. The latest investment is a new research building in Arlington, VA, home of the new AIC:HR with regional, national and international partners for research, educations and outreach.

The core technical competency of our center staff is in imaging, informatics and systems. The center is focused on studying the impact of these technologies in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and surveillance of illnesses as well as optimizing the health delivery system at the primary care settings. AIC:HR disseminates its research to public and private organizations through publications, educational programs, and workshops.
